Little London Children's Centre, Leeds
: This award winning building, launched in December 2006, was one of a group of capital projects undertaken by Deane Associates on behalf of the national charity, The Children's Society. Appointed in 2004, Yvonne Deane was responsible for all aspects of delivery from early feasibility and fundraising of £2.4million to capital project management, business planning and ERDF monitoring.
The Gateway, Bradford
: The Gateway is a unique building complex housing a large Children's Centre with 65 place nursery run by a national charity, The Children's Society, and a community and training centre run by local people. Yvonne Deane was responsible for early fundraising research and business planning, identifying and then helping to secure £1.3million capital and £0.5million in revenue to seed fund its operations.
New Parks Library, Leicester
: As a partner in Erskine, Yvonne successfully secured £1.492million from Big Lottery Fund to enable the commissioning of a brand new community library building. Subsequently contracted by Leicester City Council to co-ordinate community consultation for the building, Yvonne is also assisting the Council with the production of its new, city-wide Libraries Strategy.
Castle, Woods and Water, Northumberland
: Yvonne Deane was brought in by Erskine Corporation LLP as project manager for this exciting project to create a new vision for a six mile river corridor rich with historic buildings and ancient woodland. As a result of the project, plans were put in place to revitalise pathways, improve signage and renovate important landmark sites. A development trust was established to ensure community involvement and future sustainability.
Seven arts centre, Leeds
: Yvonne Deane has been involved for several years with Chapel Allerton Arts Festival, a small volunteer run charity, assisting the trustees at various times with business planning, fundraising strategies and organisational development. The company has gone on to open up a thriving state of the art 'black box' performing arts venue funded through a complex package of European and private sector funding. It is now one of Yvonne’s favourite places to socialise!
Settle Business Development Centre, North Yorkshire
: As lead consultant for the Erskine team, Yvonne Deane, co-ordinated desk research, formal quantitative surveys, qualitative investigation with local businesses and business planning techniques to outline the services and accommodation required by local businesses. Working with award winning Bauman Lyons Architects to undertake a site appraisal, the study concluded with production of an outline business plan for the Service, together with an evaluation of the fundraising prospects.
Kala Sangam, Bradford
: Yvonne Deane has worked with this unique South Asian performing arts agency on aspects of organisational development, business planning and fundraising. She played a key role in the early stages of fundraising and the feasibility study to create a centre of excellence for South Asian arts with a strong commitment to education, community, health and disability. With offers of match capital funding received from Arts Council Capital Lottery the company has recently acquired St Peter’s House, a spectacular listed building in the heart of the city.
Jubilee Park, East Lindsey
: As the lead consultant in the Erskine team, Yvonne Deane worked closely with leading architects, Studio Egret West, to undertake an options appraisal and feasibility study for the historic Jubilee Park and lido to help the Council decide how best to help the park to flourish for the next 60 years. The final £6million design proposal which involved a fresh concept for the lido, new pleasure gardens, and extensive community facilities, gained the full support of the council and of local people.
